Hope Community Learning Centre opens...
7th January, 2013
Hope Community Learning Centre formally opened on 7th January 2013.
Brambles Farm Community Centre was threatened by closure when Middlesbrough Council deemed that it was unsustainable due to budget cuts. It is the first Community Centre in the area to be saved through the Council’s Asset Transfer Scheme.
Keys were handed over to the Hope Foundation in October 2012 and Middlesbrough College Construction department and local residents have already rolled their sleeves up to transform the centre with a complete refurbishment of the premises. Read the full story in the Evening Gazette.
We ran a competition for a new name for the centre which was won by local resident Douglas Howarth. His prize was a Digital Camera which he received just in time for Christmas.
We have plenty of exciting plans for the centre which include services, workshops, courses, exercise and events. We’ll be setting up a facebook page to help you keep up to date with what’s going on in the centre and an area of the Hope website dedicated to the Community Learning Centre.
